as pine needles chime with the whistling wind

sliding silkworms through petals and dew
golden brown crinkles as i stare,
let my eyes dance and twinkle with you,
crease folded paper wings, a pair

eyes glow with the warmth of a candle flame
let the light spin,
let it flicker, and flutter
hands curved the beating wings of a bird
to warm my skin,
to skim, to flutter

our hands rock to and fro to cradle our peace
the chords in your throat gently rumble,
we fall together in the sound, the pleas
and let our baby birds,
leaves and flowers tumble (x6)

cascade with me into the river of stars
